Five services

Five things under one roof, which is the whole point.

If you get hit on 33 at eleven at night, the same shop pulls the car out of the ditch, writes the estimate, argues with the adjuster, replaces the windshield and puts it back on the road. Nobody hands you off and nothing sits on a lot for a week waiting on the next place to have room.

PLACEHOLDER: flatbed wrecker on a two lane county road at night with the light bar on, winch cable running out to a pickup nose down in the ditch, operator in a reflective vest at the controls

Towing and recovery

Flatbed and wheel lift, light duty through three quarter ton, plus winch outs, rollovers, lockouts and jump starts. The phone is answered at two in the morning by somebody who is going to get in the truck, not by an answering service in another state.

hook $95 + $4.50 / mi

PLACEHOLDER: quarter panel in primer under work lights with a body man block sanding it, masking paper taped along the door edge, sanding blocks and guide coat cans on the cart

Collision and frame

Unibody and frame straightening on the rack, panel replacement, blending and refinish. We write the estimate, take the photos the adjuster needs and handle the supplement so you are not the middleman between two companies.

PLACEHOLDER: technician setting a new windshield into the pinch weld with suction cup handles, fresh bead of urethane visible, blue tape holding the cowl trim clear

Auto glass

Windshields, door glass, back glass and chips, most of it billed straight to your insurance with no deductible on a chip repair. Camera and sensor recalibration on anything that needs it, which is most vehicles built after 2018.

chips from $65

PLACEHOLDER: car on a two post lift with the wheels off, technician at the front hub with a brake rotor in hand, tool cart and parts boxes staged underneath

Mechanical repair

Brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, exhaust, diagnostics, alignments and tires. NAPA AutoCare parts and labor are covered for two years or twenty-four thousand miles at any member shop in the country, which matters if you break down on a trip.

diag $95

PLACEHOLDER: handheld ignition interlock device mounted under a dash on a coiled cord, installer with a wiring harness and a laptop on the passenger seat, driver door open

Ignition interlock

Certified installation, calibration and the monthly monitoring appointments, done here instead of an hour away in the metro. We understand the reporting deadlines because we deal with them every week, and we will get you in this week rather than next month.

install from $105

PLACEHOLDER: paintless dent repair rod worked behind a door panel with a line board reflection across the sheet metal showing the dent lifting

Dent repair and detail

Paintless dent repair on door dings and hail, plus buff, polish and interior detail. Worth doing before a trade-in and worth doing on a hail car when the panel does not need paint.

from $85 / panel

PLACEHOLDER: close crop of a dry erase board in the office listing vehicles by last name with tow times and insurance claim numbers written beside them, magnet holding a stack of keys

Collision work is quoted off the car and not off the phone, because the panel you can see is rarely the whole bill. Estimates are free and we will write one whether or not insurance is involved. If your insurer tells you the car has to go to their shop, that is not true in Missouri and we will say so on the phone. Prices here are illustrative for this preview.

In the bay

Four cars in the shop this week.

Most of what comes in on the hook is deer damage from October through December and ice from January through February. The rest of the year it is fenders in parking lots and windshields off gravel trucks, which is the same list every shop in a farm county has.

PLACEHOLDER: before and after pair of a deer damaged front clip and the same truck finished and washed
Deer damage on a half ton, front clip
PLACEHOLDER: sedan on the frame rack with measuring arms clamped to the pinch welds
Unibody pull on the rack
PLACEHOLDER: new windshield set and taped with a camera recalibration target board standing in front of the vehicle
Glass and camera recalibration
PLACEHOLDER: pickup being winched onto the flatbed from a snow covered shoulder in early morning light
Winch out on a county road
PLACEHOLDER: the owner in a shop jacket standing at the front of the flatbed with the door open and a clipboard under his arm, shop sign and gravel lot behind him

The shop

One building, five bays, and the owner drives the wrecker.

Owner name goes here bought the shop on Locust Street and added services one at a time as the county needed them: body work first, then the wrecker, then glass, then the interlock certification because people were driving to Kansas City for it. He still takes the night calls on the tow line himself more often than he should.

Almost nobody knows all five of those things happen here, because the shop has never had a website and a wrecker does not advertise. That is the whole reason for this page.
